About me
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Southern Mississippi and a McNair Scholar. I enjoy watching anime and playing on my PlayStation 5. My research focuses on Black maternal health disparities in Mississippi, where I examine how structural racism, socioeconomic factors, and maternity care deserts contribute to high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity. Guided by a reproductive justice framework, my work highlights the interconnectedness of maternal and infant health outcomes and explores solutions such as telehealth and community doula programs. I plan to pursue a career in nursing, with the goal of bridging research and clinical practice to advance equitable healthcare for marginalized communities.
